KAMINSKI HOUSE MUSEUM PRESENTS A VERY FASHIONABLE CHRISTMAS! Having a Ball!

The Kaminski House Museum in historic Georgetown, SC will be the site for A Very Fashionable Christmas. Local designers will dress the museum in holiday decor ranging from traditional Christmas decorations to seasonal glitz and glamour! The Christmas Open House will feature candlelight tours.

Candlelight Open Houses: Saturday, November 12 (5:30 -6:30 p.m.) and Saturday, November 26 (5:30 - 7:30 p.m.) Saturday, December 17 is Family Night with Swamp Fox Tours Trolley, hot cocoa & cookies and activity sheets for children; 4 - 6 p.m.

Prices: Evening Open Houses: $10 members, $15 non-members

Family Night (Dec. 17): $5 adults and children 12 and over, children under 12 free

Avid collector Melissa Levey shares her passion for wedding fashions. Come see some of her favorite gowns and wedding styles popular in American fashion on Friday, November 18. The presentation is part of the Kaminski House Museum's lecture series. The lecture and exhibition of wedding gowns will take place in the Stewart-Parker House beginning at 12 noon. The cost of the lecture is $10. Bag lunches are available upon request for a fee of $8.

Spend an autumn afternoon on the lawn of the Kaminski House Museum with the Denny Hess Trio and a special appearance by Kevin Jayroe. You can also enjoy a Wine Tasting and a Sweets Tent at this event. The event is scheduled on Sunday, October 30, 2 p.m. The concert is part of the Made in the Shade Concert Series and is sponsored by Anderson Brothers Bank.

Family Fun & Literacy Day

Spend a fun-filled afternoon on the lawn of the Kaminski House Museum as we present Family Fun and Literacy Day on Saturday, October 29, 1 - 5 p.m. Fall activities include storytelling, children's games, scarecrow corn husk doll making, pumpkin painting, a healthy foods tent and a spirited pumpkin patch. This is a free event provided to the community through a grant from International Paper. Parents must accompany children to be admitted to this event.

Visit the Kaminski House Museum for a special Commander's Tour on Saturday, October 15 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. The mini tour will highlight the home of U.S. Navy Lt. Commander Harold Kaminski and his wife, Julia. Experience the "Commander's Den," filled with antique model ships, naval art, memorabilia and much more! The cost of the tour is $5.00.

Kaminski House Museum Waterfront CleanUp Effort

In partnership with the Keep Georgetown Beautiful and PalmettoPride Keep South Carolina Beautiful, the Friends of the Kaminski House Museum will organize a waterfront cleanup on Thursday, April 14 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Dress in cleanup attire and wear sneakers. Gloves, lawn equipment and bags will be supplied. A Volunteer Lunch will be served immediately following the cleanup. To volunteer contact the Museum Gift Shop at 843-546-7706.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Kaminski House Museum

All children 12 and under are invited to participate in the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn of the Kaminski House Museum and Rainey Park on Saturday, March 26, 11:30 a.m. This is an annual event sponsored by the Cultural Council of Georgetown County, the Georgetown Business Association and the Friends of the Kaminski House. Other activities will include a stroll down the boardwalk in the Easter Strut. We hope to see everyone for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Rainey Park and on the lawn of the Kaminski House Museum.

The Kaminski House Museum presents A Very Fashionable Christmas beginning Monday, November 9 through Wednesday, December 30 during our guided tours at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. in historic Georgetown, SC. Local designers will dress the museum in holiday decor ranging from traditional Christmas decorations to seasonal glitz and glamour! A Very Fashionable Christmas will feature candlelight tours on Thursday evenings on November 12, December 3, 10 and 17.
