Jennie Holton Fant will discuss her new book, Sojourns in Charleston, South Carolina 1865-1947: From the Ruins of War to the Rise of Tourism, accounts of lowcounty people, culture and the politics in the coastal region after the Civil War and into the 20th century. The Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 20th from 11 am - 12 noon. The fun begins with the Annual Easter Parade as participants gather at the town clock at 11 am and parade down the boardwalk to the Kaminski House Museum. The younger children (5 and under) will meet at the Front Street entrance to Rainey Park. The older children (6 - 12) are asked to meet in Rainey Park at the steps leading up to the museum. At approximately 11:30 am the Easter Bunny will give the signal and the egg hunt begins. The egg hunt is fast and furious and ends in about ten minutes. Four baskets will be awarded to the children that find the four golden eggs. The event is sponsored by The Friends of the Kaminski House Museum, The Georgetown Real Estate Agency and The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce.

Join the Friends of the Kaminski House and Woodman of the World on the own of the museum on Front Street for a musical tribute to the 75th Anniversary of D-Day on Thursday, June 6th at 6:30 pm. The concert by the Pawleys Island Concert Band will feature musical selections in remembrance of this momentous historical event. Our Veterans will be recognized at the concert and the event is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite refreshments for a picnic on the lawn of the Kaminski House.
